Karen’s Smile

By: John Silva – October 2016

In a world where life is often cruel, unkind, and uncertain.

We try to make sense of our lives.  There are so many lies and broken promises.  It’s hard to understand, why?

But now the darkness fades and I see her smile.  It shines like the sun, and it radiates warmth that gives me hope.

Karen, through your smile… you gave love to your children.

Even through the tough times, your smile was reassuring.  It gave us a sense of peace.

Your smile…reflected a heart of love, making even strangers feel welcomed.

Your gentle touch brought healing to scraped knees and bruised feelings.

Your smile and your joyful heart delighted and inspired us.  It generated laughter.

Holding your two precious children beside you, and a chocolate strawberry smoothie in your hand and your huge smile is a memory treasured forever.

In time, you left this world and entered into the next.  God offered His hand and embraced you with His understanding and light.

Your hands held His, and your spirits united.

Your eyes locked, and hope and joy freely flowed between you.

God said, “Good Job.  Well done.  I’m proud of you.  Come and join me in my kingdom and enjoy your new life.”

Karen, your love and smile are forever impressed in our hearts and minds.  We count ourselves fortunate to have had you in our lives.  You were a bright light shining in the darkness.    Karen, we love you.
